Julianna Koob, the Legislative Advocate for Planned Parenthood and the ACLU will speak about women's reproductive rights, with a focus on the strategies that win and ways that grassroots work are key. She will talk about bad bills that have successfully been stopped, and the work to further proactive reproductive healthcare legislation.
Ms. Koob has fought to advance the rights of women and children for more than twenty-five years. She began as a domestic violence crisis advocate and later became a legislative advocate fighting for the rights of girls and women to make their own healthcare decisions, to receive equal pay and to have access to abortion without barriers. She has worked within a coalition to defeat multiple pieces of legislation and an Albuquerque city ballot measure that attempted to restrict access to abortion.
Women’s reproductive rights are under threat as never before since Roe v. Wade. Please come to our next luncheon meeting to learn how we can help protect these hard-won rights.
