Candidate Forums

Be an Informed Voter

The League of Women Voters of Santa Fe County sponsors candidate forums to help you
get to know the candidates and to become an informed voter.

Your Vote Counts

Upcoming Candidate Forums

Why are these forums important?

Candidate forums are the best way for voters to get to know the candidates in an unscripted program in which the audience poses the questions and candidates answer from their own personal knowledge.

There is never an admission charge to attend a League forum.

How is the forum conducted?

Each candidate will have a few minutes to give introductory remarks.  After that, the moderator will read the questions submitted in writing by the audience and screened by a panel of LWVSFC members to eliminate duplicate or inappropriate questions.

Each candidate will have a limited time to give their answer to each question.

The order of answering is rotated so that one candidate does not always go first (or last).  Each candidate will have the opportunity to give a closing speech of about two minutes’ duration.
