Santa Fe County Manager Roman Abeyta will report on the county's reactions to the recommendations in the LWVSFC transparency study and detail the improvements undertaken as a result of the study. Thursday, March 25, 2010	11:45 am	Santa Fe County Conference Room 2052 Galisteo Street, Santa Fe (The conference room is in the middle of the suite of offices, about a city block south of LANB on right side of Galisteo.)	LWVSFC Unit Meeting: Consensus Questions on the LWVSFC Transparency in Government Study. Consensus questions on the Transparency in Government study will be discussed and a position presented to the LWVSFC Board for approval at their meeting on April 14.
Tuesday, March 30, 2010	6:30 - 8:30 pm	Jemez Room, Santa Fe Community College, 6401 South Richards Avenue, Santa Fe NM, 87508	LWVSFC Immigration Panel. A panel discussion on immigration will cover issues at local, state, and national levels. Representatives from the City of Santa Fe, Santa Fe County, New Mexico state government, business, and law will cover current immigration policies and implications for economic development. Panelists will also discuss legal issues related to undocumented immigrants and likely federal policy and legislative action in the coming months. Click here for background reading on immigration.
Tuesday, April 6, 2010	12 noon	Hidden Chicken, 730 St. Michael's Drive # 3, Santa Fe	LWVSFC Action/Advocacy Committee. The committee will review and prioritize current action items and plan advocacy activities and events.
Wednesday, April 7, 2010	11:45 am	Hilton, 100 Sandoval Street, Santa Fe	LWVSFC General Meeting/Luncheon. A panel of three speakers--Michael Swift from Research and Polling Inc., Cheryl Haaker of League of Women Voters of Central New Mexico, and Amy Suma, chair of the Santa Fe County Census Committee--will discuss the census, redistricting, and what it means for New Mexico. A panel of experts--including financial staff from Santa Fe Community College, Santa Fe Public Schools, the City of Santa Fe, and Santa Fe County--will discuss timing and criteria for public referenda.
