About the League

WHAT HAVE WE BEEN DOING LATELY?
- The League helped Santa Fe County formulate a smart-growth plan to help preserve natural resources and advocated for the plan’s successful passage by the County Commission.
- We testified before New Mexico’s Environmental Improvement Board on the League position on climate change, encouraging the board to pass a law to tackle greenhouse pollution.
- We completed a study of transparency in local government to help county and city governments become more accessible, open, and responsive to the public.
- We publish election guides widely valued by voters and decision-makers for their wealth of nonpartisan information on candidates and ballot measures.
- We conduct voter-registration drives across the county and candidate forums before elections.
